Dictionary.com defines terrorism as ‘the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.’ Some definitions (notably Merriam-Webster) add the qualifier ‘systematic’, which in my opinion decreases rather than increases clarity, as the definition of ‘systematic’ is itself fluid.
